Airshows, Annuals, and Airframes

We were busy at Cal-Aero Academy this week. Now that we got the L5 painted, we started working on the inside. The ladies of Cal-Aero began taking the engine apart so we can replace the seals in the cylinders and so we can check for corrosion or any other issues.

Every year most planes have to go under an inspection called an annual. A certified mechanic checks the plane in-depth to make sure everything, such as flight controls and instruments, is running smoothly and all the FAA requirements for the aircraft are being met. This month it’s the Twin Bonanza’s turn to get some TLC.

And, finally, we went to our third airshow!! We attended Long Beach’s Festival of Flight and got to talk to more people about how much we love planes. Airshows are always a good place to be inspired and help inspire others about aviation. We are, as always, so grateful to everyone for their hard work this week!
