It's springtime in Chino!
Thanks to the effort of our volunteers we had plenty of flying and work done on the champ. We started the day visiting a L16 on the field for inspiration for our restored airplane. Pat and Tiphani led the effort to inspect and catalog needed repairs to the nails on the champ wings with the borescope. The survey was extensive, and we have many nails to replace and hammer in, but now we have a reasonable scope of work for getting this plane back in the air.
Tucker, Christy, Jeff, and Keegan worked on cleaning up the fuselage. Tucker spent hours getting years of Arizona dirt out of the bottom. Jeff and Christy removed the old logo in our quest to prep the plane for repaint.
Pat led a group in fabric repair as we did some work to the rudder. It's fantastic to learn from somebody who really knows his stuff.
Matt and Pat also have been training Tiphani and Jeff in the T-6 and Stearman. Both big and challenging airplanes.
Thank you to everyone that continues to support our nonprofit organization and us in our goal to bring in the next generation of aviators.
