Cherokee Work Begins
Good news- our Cherokee starts up and can taxi now! It hasn’t flown in 22 years, so this is more exciting than it sounds. Still got a long road ahead of us, though. Last Saturday we began the work by changing the tires, then we bled the brakes and made new brake lines. We serviced the shocks and rerouted the trim cables for both the rudder and the elevator. We also started ripping out the interior and the insulation. Special shout out to Nicola for doing extensive research on the Airworthiness Directives for the Cherokee. Speaking of paperwork- Heather has been so, so helpful lately organizing everything behind the scenes, from our papers to our tools. Someone has to keep us grounded and we’re grateful to the people who do. If you’re interested in seeing a plane being almost completely redone come check us out next Saturday!
